The Red Cross of Rožaje launched the project Care for the Elderly in August 2025, aiming to improve the quality of life of 35 senior citizens in both rural and urban areas of the municipality. The project provides better access to healthcare and psychosocial services for people over 65, particularly those facing barriers to such support. A team of five trained young volunteers, in cooperation with a doctor, offers medical check-ups, assistance with medication, and help with household chores. The initiative is funded by the Fund for Active Citizenship (fAKT) within the “Community in Action” grant scheme and will run until November 20, 2025.
