"General Objective:
The general objective of the project is to raise awareness within the local community about the rights of individuals with intellectual disabilities through an innovative approach to self-advocacy, as well as to enhance the social inclusion of this population.

Specific Objectives:
SC 1. Increase the social inclusion of youth and individuals with intellectual disabilities by empowering them through the self-advocacy model.
SC 2. Improve the position of youth and individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing training to professional staff in supporting this population in self-advocacy.
SC 3. Enhance collaboration with local government, institutions, media, and organizations focused on intellectual disabilities to better inform about the rights of children and youth with intellectual disabilities, individuals with disabilities, as well as the self-advocacy model.
SC 4. Empower and inform parents by providing psychosocial support.
SC 5. Inform the entire local community about the rights of youth with intellectual disabilities and individuals with disabilities through innovative approaches via a media campaign.
The project ""Empower and Engage - Self-Advocacy for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities"" aims to enhance the independence and active participation of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Key activities include establishing and operating a self-advocacy club with a leader and specialist, conducting workshops twice a week for 10 participants, holding a one-day training for professionals and collaborators, organizing a two-day seminar for representatives of local government, institutions, parents, and members on the UN Convention, legal regulations, and the self-advocacy model.
Additionally, the project involves providing group support to parents and individuals with disabilities twice a month and implementing a media campaign through social networks, media, and local radio. Expected project results include strengthening the independence of participants through self-advocacy, empowering professionals in supporting youth with intellectual disabilities, educating representatives of local government, and promoting project activities through a media campaign."
