Target Groups:
Direct target groups:
Artists and other workers in the cultural sector, regardless of age and level of formal education, workers in the field of social and humanistic sciences, the overall cultural and artistic community, civil society organizations, students and professors of art schools, professional associations.
""Feminist School for Workers in Culture"" is an educational program designed for all those in the cultural sector who wish to gain insight into the historical-theoretical foundations of feminism. This includes exploring the history and development of feminist ideas and movements, as well as delving into the feminist history of art. The program aims to uncover the influence of feminist theory on artistic practices in the 20th and 21st centuries, principles and methods of activist engagement, and strategies for building collectives or communities based on feminist principles.

The primary objective is to provide theoretical education for artists and cultural workers whose professions are conditioned by complex capitalist relations of production and power. This involves recognizing oppressive social structures and engaging in art activism to bring about change. The school is open to all cultural workers, regardless of their formal education level.

The curriculum consists of five theoretical-practical modules, each chronologically following the other to depict causal socio-political, economic, and cultural changes. The dynamics of the work will be documented in a theoretical-artistic collection containing texts and artistic interventions by participants, lecturers, and others.

The modules cover a range of topics:

""History of Feminist Ideas"" led by philosopher Kristina Bojanović, exploring foundational concepts of feminism, such as gender, patriarchy, equality, sexuality, and emancipation, along with the emergence and historical development of feminist ideas and theoretical trends.
""Feminist Art History"" focuses on critiquing the history of art as a gallery of male figures, discussing the lives and work of early women painters from the Renaissance, and addressing societal oppressions in education and work.
""Current Feminist Theories: Movements and Strategies"" led by philosopher Maja Solar, concentrates on critiquing capitalism, examining ideas, and highlighting differences among contemporary feminist theories.
""History and Legacy of Socialist Feminism / Building Collectives on Feminist Principles"" led by sociologist and translator Milena Ostojić, explores the emancipatory results of socialist feminism and discusses the legacy and history of women's organizing.
""Influence of Feminist Theory on Artistic Practice"" led by art historian Nela Gligorović and artist/researcher Adrijana Gvozdenović delves into feminist art practices from the second half of the 20th century to the present.
Mentors will work continuously with all participants, and the culmination of the school will be the publication of a collection of theoretical-artistic works produced during the Feminist School."
